Someone sent this cute little story to me not realizing the power of the story as it relates to marketing strategies and business plans in the network marketing industry.

A married couple in their early 70s was celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in a quiet, romantic little restaurant.  Suddenly, a tiny yet beautiful fairy  appeared on their table. She said, ‘For being such an exemplary married couple and for being loving to each other for  all this time, I will grant you each a wish.’  The wife  answered, ‘Oh, I want to travel around the world with my darling  husband.’  The fairy waved her magic wand and – poof! – two  tickets for the Queen Mary II appeared in her hands.
The husband thought for a moment: ‘Well, this is all very  romantic, but an opportunity like this will never come  again.  I’m sorry my love, but my wish is to have a wife 30  years younger than me.’  The wife and the fairy were deeply disappointed, but a wish is a wish.  So the fairy waved her magic wand and poof!….the husband became 102 years  old.

His intent and his results were one and the same.

I’m going to make a big assumption here and assume you got involved in network marketing to change your life, to make some money, to create a better world for yourself and your loved ones.  Money which you in turn can be “used for good!”

If my assumption is wrong please stop reading now as I’m only speaking to those who have that desire.  The desire to make money for whatever your own personal reasons are.

Be Careful – your intent may become your results

How much money do you want?  How soon?  What do you want to do with it when you get it?  Do you have a plan in place to get there?

It’s extremely easy to get swayed by this offer, this training, this mentor and how do you focus in on what you need so your results match your intent?

Making friends is not building your list

If you’ve been around a while you’ve probably run into those who will tell you to go out and make friends, help them and the money will follow.  And there is truth to that statement but it’s not the whole story.  Remember let’s focus on the fact you have started a business.

a.)    Do you know a business owner anywhere who doesn’t provide something that is going to increase the value of your life without charging for it?
b.)    Do you know counsellors who help people sort out their lives that don’t get paid for it?
c.)    Do you know nurses or doctors that save people’s lives that don’t get paid for it?
d.)    Do you know teachers who go to work every day to teach your children who don’t get paid for it?

And I’m not talking about mission work, we’re focusing on owning a business so you can go out and do mission work if that is your choosing.

Attraction Marketing and YOU Inc.

If you’ve been around a while you’ve probably run into the “Attraction Marketing”, “Brand You Inc.” concepts.  And there is an incredible amount of value and truth to those concepts but again it’s not the whole story.  Remember we are focusing on the fact you have started a business and you’ve probably wondered what that has got to do with my business.  Where do I start?  What do I do?  How do I “brand myself?”

a.)    that ones is pretty easy – just be yourself.  Don’t pretend to be something you are not.
b.)    Take the time to search deep within you for the life experiences that are totally unique to you.  Experiences that can be translated into your network marketing business and tell others about it, either through the written word or video.
c.)    Take the time to analyse what your strengths are that you bring to the table.  Are you a technical person who loves to learn how something works?  Great, turn around and teach someone how you set up your blog or facebook fan page.  Are you the type of person who loves reading and sharing inspirational and motivational quotes and videos.  Great, share them and why they touched YOU or helped YOU grow.
d.)    You are unique.  By branding yourself you are simply letting people know what makes you tick and you will attract the very people that like the qualities they see in you.

If you’ve been around for awhile you are probably aware there is a million (OK that was a slight exaggeration) different systems you can tap into.  All sound wonderful, all promise you $$ if you follow the system and most of them work but which one is right for you?

Let’s go over the 2 points I touched in on here.

1.)    You are in business and what your intent is, is to make money
2.)    You need to allow the real you and your experiences to touch other people so they will do business with you (building the know, like and trust factor)

You have a business, you have something of value to share with others, now what?

Marketing

Now comes the marketing.  I’ve done the cold calling from the phone book, called 100 people a day off a supplied list of “hot” prospects, phone blasters,  made online friends in the hopes they would ask me about my business, made a list of 100 people I knew, mentored people without charging, did and do 3 way calls, warm market, trade shows, posters, flyers, newspaper advertising, sticky notes on parked cars, home meetings, dropped fake $100 bills, wow there hasn’t been much I haven’t tried.  And don’t get me wrong, I did get results.

But ….

There had to be something easier.  I spent almost a year scrolling around the internet, listening to podcasts, watching videos, reading blogs, articles, forum posts by people who I felt had something to teach me.  Someone who would give me the answers I wanted.  Bit by bit I pieced together what was needed to truly be successful in a network marketing business.  Then I started to look for a system that would fulfill all that I was looking for.

MSLP was that system.

1.)    It allowed me to provide solutions to people’s problems as I earned.
2.)    It allowed me to brand myself on the capture pages and the sales pages.
3.)    It allowed anyone joining me to use what was in place until they were comfortable with the branding and training aspect of the business.

The 3 co-owners have out did themselves on providing marketing training, step by step video instructions on the system, how to do things and when, excellent and quick support and from personal experience I know they provide what they say they will …What you need to build a large and successful business.
