I was honoured to have my blog critiqued by Jason Better and published in Mike Dillard and co. What’s Working Now magazine.  Jason very kindly pointed out all the areas I was going wrong with my blog and suggested tips and strategies to make my blog more user friendly, more appealing to readers and all around better.  I posted Jason’s suggestions and then was asked “Why are you doing that?  Don’t you think people are going to seek out Jason and then you will lose out on some potential partners?”

Because I love to leverage off other’s expertise I posted a topic “I have the most amazing tip to share with you” on one of the best forums around:  www.betternetworker.com and I wanted to share with you some of the absolute nuggets of gold I picked up from my fellow network marketers.

The recurring theme was the “relationship” aspect but I’ll use the specific words people used.  Cheryl James wrote: “Because I know I can get you on the phone to answer any questions. You’re accessible.  Because I know you won’t be talking about it if you don’t believe it or it does not work. Trust.”  -Iqbal Ahmed says: “The guy has more faith and trust in you because he knows you better than the top guy.”

Even Dave KoteckiJim Ticehurst and Dean McNamara contributed to our relationship by injecting humour (and maybe some truth there Dave) into the conversation.  And Dean, coffee is definitely on me !

Marius Lombaard introduced a key topic which every network marketer with the dream of building a huge organization has to face:  “My answer would be because the top guys like Mike Dillard etc are already too busy helping their own core group.  Mike, although he has much leverage, can only help so many people. everyone needs a mentor. if he teaches 10 people, and they teach 10 each, and so forth… It makes sense. but Mike won’t have time to coach 1000 people individually.”  We need to think beyond where we are now.  Thanks for that Marius.

Catch this golden nugget from Sandeep Nath: “Because you will give me tips from 10 sources while they would brag only about their own.”  Can I repeat that?  “Because you will give me tips from 10 sources while they would only brag about their own.” Powerful words !!

How about considering this: “Because you say it in a way I can understand.” Art Lovell.  Doesn’t that inspire confidence in your abilities?  Because you had to learn it, it’s easier for you to teach someone else.  Excellent point Art.

Roger Silen targets a key component:  Be Yourself.
A. I might not know who the source is….
B. I might not have access to the source…
C. I might like your spin on the “Information” a little better
D. You might have a better way of making me understand or put it all together
D. You might have a better connection with me (maybe we have much in common)
D. I Just might Plain Like YOU better!!

Can you get any better advice than these contributors just gave to you and me ?

If you are struggling, take heart, you know more than you think you know (there will always be people that know less than you) and that makes you a worthy candidate for someone to join you instead of the Mike Dillard’s (nothing personal Mike, I’m just using you as an example) of the world.

And as you can see, the consensus is: it’s all about relationships.

To my honoured fellow network marketers, thank you.  You and I are not in the same company, we don’t know each other other than through the written word or video and yet you still took the time to help me and in turn, help others.

You are the best !

To your success,
