Sales? Forget it. Not me !

Dear Mr. Sales Position:

I don’t like you.  I don’t want you even being associated with my name.  I’m not good at you.  I don’t want to be you and it ticks me off that everyone keeps telling me that if I’m going to be in MLM I have to become you.

Then this lady comes along and tells me there is only 5 things I need to do to become a “professional” you.  Why would I want to do that when I don’t even want to be a bad you?

Ironic considering Point #5 but she wouldn’t listen to me and told me this stuff anyways.

Marty Baker: A viewpoint on MLM Sales

Your skill set?  Your previous experiences?  Your current occupation?  Marital status?  Whatever your story is, Marty Baker will tell you it doesn’t matter what your answers are, if you want to start a business you will be in sales.  A discussion about what movie to go to is a form of sales.  Anytime you are trying to influence someone it is selling.  “Giving without want is selling, through education, but it is still selling.  If you tell people this is not a sales business it is a relationship business, you are selling them on that idea so it is still selling.   Sales for a professional in Marty Baker’s opinion is simply a matter of being on a fact finding mission.  “What does someone need? Sales and network marketing in one sentence?

If you cannot wrap your head around the fact you are in “Sales” when you have a network marketing business, please don’t waste your time, STOP here and don’t read any further.

You have to “sell” yourself first and foremost.  You have to be able to “sell” your product or service.  Lastly, you have to “sell” your primary opportunity.
