Branding the Authentic YOU !

My little girl bounced into the room, eyes shining, pen poised over a special notepad.  “What do you want on your dress, Mommy?”  She tilted her head as she waited for my response.  “Stars, sweetie, lots of stars, big ones, little ones, make them sparkle just like all the people I work with.” Read the rest of this entry

Every day is challenging for her

She was tiny, beautiful, native, 19 years old and she wanted to make a difference in this world.  She also had Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder (FASD).  Her biological mom drank when she was pregnant and the message she wanted to bring to teens and young moms was “Don’t”.

Don’t drink.  A devastating decision that affects too many innocent children. Read the rest of this entry

Can you help someone today? Some deserve it.

I met her online.  I can’t remember exactly how the initial contact was made but we talked.  I learned a bit about her and I learned she was an artist and a Canadian.  Bonus !

I enjoyed our conversations and one day she asked me if I would like to see a bit of her art.  Sure but as most can relate to, life was busy, I had lots of things to do and other than putting it on my to do list I hadn’t done anything with it.

That changed.  Chatting on Skype one day she asked me if I’d seen it.  Oops but I would go right now.  I did and the world around me stopped.  I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.  I was amazed, drawn into the awesomeness of her work.  Coloured pencil on black paper.  So good it took my breath away. The biggest and best lesson I learned ….

Tolerance.

Acceptance.

Understanding.

All 3 combined into one big lesson. When I started in my network marketing venture every thing I learned was the way it was. There was no other way. Every thing I did everyone else had to do too. The company I was in was the best. The comp plan was the best. The products were the best. My method of generating leads was the best. My system was the best. It had to be done this way. Everyone had to believe what I believed because it was the truth. Read the rest of this entry

Just a partial lobotomy please

“Just take out that part please.  Just the part the keeps me from doing the things I have to do to be successful.  The rest seems to be OK.  It’s functioning.  I’ve got lots of really good talents and skills but that fear part that’s residing up there is taking up way too much space.  Cut that part out, OK?”

Brian Fanale, on the regular MLSP morning call, told a story that he had made up.  Seriously he made this story up based on something that happened to him.  And his brain connected this false story with a negative emotion and well, I probably don’t need to tell you that combination kept him from moving forward for far too long.

Is it OK to cry now?

Is there a lesson here for others?  Probably not.  But maybe you can comment and tell me if there is something you’ve learned from this story.

It was Friday morning.  I had walked my kids out to the road to catch the bus.  A little drizzly but basically a nice, although cloudy spring day.

Time for my breakfast, a quiet cup of coffee, get dressed, sit down at my computer to start my day.

I got the breakfast and coffee part down but I decided to check my emails and scroll around and see if anything was new before I got into the shower.

So in essence I was still in my pyjamas when it happened. Read the rest of this entry

Little things create MLM success

I had trouble reading it.  It was backwards, written in uneven letters as only an 8 year old can do when she’s writing big letters with a marker on a glass door.  She was excited and proud of herself.  I could see her vibrating with her excitement.

I stopped the tractor, shifted into neutral and throttled down.  The bucket of snow could wait as I acknowledged her and attempted to decipher the written message she had for me. Read the rest of this entry

Want to grow? Invite feedback !

Long weekend Monday.  Thunderstorms with the typical lightening bolts flashing consistently kept my two infants inside with no television, movies or computer.  Out come the games, the playdoe and lots of crafts.

The 5 year old is still struggling with what the professionals call “fine motor skills”.  Scissors are held upside down, sideways and occasionally the right way.  The paper rips in places it’s not supposed to rip, gets cut in places that shouldn’t be cut and generally doesn’t end up with a satisfactory result. We are animals. Pack animals. We, as humans, are social by nature. Choosing to live together in communities, socializing within geographical limits, mutual interest clubs or groups or exclusively within the expanded family parameters.

In every group, pack or family unit a leader emerges followed or surrounded by the “pre-leaders”. We are hardwired to live this way and at one point the leader was the most powerful, the strongest, the one most able to protect us. In the animal kingdom that has not changed. Negative Emotions are Learned Emotions

Negative emotions are not natural. They are not a normal part of our make-up. They have been learned and can be unlearned.
Have you ever seen a negative baby?? All negative emotions we experience are because we have been taught or we learned to be negative. Hence, we CAN eliminate them from our lives. The most common are doubt, fear, guilt, resentment, envy, jealousy and anger.
