MLM Constructive Criticism

You know how it is when someone says something, or comments on a post you’ve made or offers you ways to improve?  And it just makes your day.  It builds your confidence.  It reinforces the knowledge that the path you are on is the right one.
Warren Veach did that for me.  I asked a simple question on Betternetworker the other day:  “Is $350K too much to expect?” Warren answered my question, “Taking constructive criticism, learning from it and actually following up on it is essential to continued growth…..  Not only did you learn from the critique, but you acted upon it!” Read the rest of this entry

Outsourcing lesson learned

I pushed it.  Took it right to the edge and of course had to deal with the consequences.  Ten days of rain on top of the significant snow melt left a few large massive puddles in the low lying areas of my acreage.

With less than half of the lawn mowed, my 16 HP Simplicity lawn tractor was stuck, really stuck.  Under the water: slippery grass/mud combination.  No amount of rocking or material wedged under the tires would give me the traction I needed to manoeuvre out of the muck and onto solid ground.  The transmission disengages easily however I lacked the physical strength to push it out by hand.  Nothing big enough in the vicinity to use a winch (although I didn’t have one to use).  I was stuck, covered in mud and on the verge of frustration.

One must guard themselves against salespeople or they too will be suckered into something against their will.

NOTHING COULD BE FARTHER FROM THE TRUTH

I worked for and owned a couple of small, rural weekly newspapers. My title was Advertising Manager and the main focus of my job was “sales”. Physically walking into a prospective customers office and “selling” him/her advertising space in the newspaper. Cold calling many would call it in our profession. I was good at it. I loved meeting … Read the rest of this entry
